To conclude our unit on community, the students worked together to create a part of what we see in the community. We made a nice list of places in our communities such as a library, hospital, restaurants, school, doctor's office, and so much more. Students worked in pairs using boxes, construction paper, markers, tape, and glue to construct their buildings. It was amazing to see how well the students worked together discussing and deciding on how their buildings should look and what needs to be included. Their energy, enthusiasm, and creativity exceeded my expectations! I'm so proud of my students and the work they created! We made trees and roads to add to our community as well!

February 2nd - 6th
Our students are working hard on decoding new vocabulary as we read stories from our reading series. It's so nice to hear a child read with confidence and the proud feelings they have when they accomplished this special task!
This week we worked on small phonetic words. We matched the middle sounds of words and created a list of Valentine CVC words! They are so colorful and fun!
