Have you ever seen a real leprechaun? What if he came into our classroom? What would he do? Would he make a mess? Would he practice his reading words? During our journal writing time, the kindergarten students wrote about what they thought would happen if a leprechaun came into our classroom!
As we wrapped up our unit on measurement, each child chose an item from the classroom and measured the item to the nearest inch. Next, they drew a picture of the item, filled in the sentence starter with the name of the item and how many inches long it was. I was so impressed of how well the students did with measuring.
