November 11th - 15th

This week the kindergarten class started having snack independently!  They are able to set their place, pour their water, and serve the snack!  They are doing a fantastic job!

In science class, we worked with a balancing scale.  We used objects from the classroom and compared their weight to 10 popcorn kernels.  The objects were:  rubber band, unifix cube, crayon, craft stick, penny, cotton ball, a plastic link and a paperclip.  The students enjoyed making predictions to see which item would be the heaviest!  Did you know a crayon weighs more than 10 popcorn kernels!!!

It's been so nice to watch friendships blossom over the last few months.  These boys and girls enjoy working and playing together!

Our hallway is filled with the season of FALL!!!!

November 4th - 8th

One morning, the Early Childhood students worked together filling snack bags with items such as granola bars, crackers, and juice boxes.  The bags were donated to Nutritional Development Services.  It's so nice to see even our youngest HCA students doing service!  We are very proud of our students!

This week the students enjoyed a short play at school presented by the Walnut Street Theatre about bullying.  The name of the play was "Bob the Bully Buster."  The message was about how to recognize a bully, and what to do if you are being bullied.  The boys and girls enjoyed the show and were a great audience!

We had a surprise guest reader and the students were super excited!  Mrs. Fox-Tully read a story to the class called, "The Scarecrow and the Spider."  The story was about friendship and always knowing God is with you.  Thank you, Mrs. Fox-Tully for reading to our class!

Some of the students are working on adding two digit numbers using the Montessori Bank Game!
