This week we had the pleasure of hosting some Holy Child Rye students at our school. This Holy Child school is located in Rye, NY. We had a great time enjoying a picnic style lunch on the field and then having some fun recess time together!
As we continue working on our "chick unit" with PreK, we are learning about the growth of the chick inside the egg. This week we were able to candle the eggs and see movement within the egg. As the days go by, the chicks grow and develop. The pictures really do not show how amazing it was to see what was inside the egg. We are using a poster to keep track of the growth of the baby chicks! The students thought candling the egg was really neat! So did the teachers!!!
A huge thank you to our Mystery Readers this week! It has been such a blast starting our days with a guest reader! Thank you to Zoe's mom, Enzo's parents, and Evelyn's mom! We even had some siblings join in the fun as well!
This week, we decided to venture outside of the classroom and "write the school" using our whiteboards. We traveled in small groups around the building writing sentences about things we saw and things we liked in the school! This was such a fun activity!
Sharing a fun moment with our PreK and K twins!
In my opinion, there is nothing better than getting the opportunity to teach a child to read! I am so proud of the hard work this class has put into reading this year! We continue to work hard with our vocabulary words and enjoy the different stories we are reading!
