January 6th - 10th

 HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope you had a wonderful holiday break and a very Happy New Year!  Even with our holiday break and the snow day, the kindergarten students came back excited and ready to work!

As we get back into the routine, please be sure to review the vocabulary list that was sent home before the break.  The list will be added to as we work through the readers.  This week, we played a word bingo game.  The students worked with a partner recognizing sight and phonetic words.  We had so much fun!

This week our 6th grade buddy class came down to kindergarten to work with us.  We played a matching memory game and bingo.  Each game reflected different feelings we have such as happy, excited, scared, or sad.  Each time we get together with our buddy class, the kindergarten students gets so excited!  It's always a special time!

The kindergarten class is working on using a number line for simple addition and subtraction. We are also working hard with recognizing new vocabulary from our readers!
