EVENTS AND REMINDERS

School resumes Tuesday, January 4th.  This will be Day 6.  

Gym Days when we return:  Tuesday and Wednesday

Our gym days are Days 1,4, and 6.  Please feel free to go on the Holy Child website school calendar to track the days.

Saint Nicholas Day!

Saint Nicholas surprised us by placing special gifts in our shoes!  We placed our shoes in the hallway and waited for Saint Nicholas to come!  What a fun day!

The students have been working on a mini unit about the story, Polar Express!  We pretended to be passengers on the train and drew pictures of what we would see if we looked out the window on the train!  We saw wild animals, the forest, and tall snow-covered mountains!  The students are fantastic illustrators and story tellers!

POLAR EXPRESS DAY!

We ended our unit by having a Polar Express day where the students wore their pajamas and we watched the movie!

EVENTS AND REMINDERS

The students are working very hard on the Christmas Nativity Show.  As a reminder, on Wednesday, December 15th,  we will perform the show for the older students.  Kindergarten should wear their regular uniform.  On Thursday, December 16th, we will perform for the parents.  Kindergarten students need to wear their dress clothes and dress shoes to school.  Please pack sneakers in school bags. Remember, only two guests per child.

Sunday, December 12 at 1:30 PM - Please join us for the Family Advent Liturgy in the HCA gym. All are welcome to attend. You can find the RSVP link in the Happenings. We are hosting a toy drive for children from the ages of infancy to 12 years old so please feel free to bring an unwrapped toy. There will also be a bake sale after the Mass. 

On Friday, December 17, all students will have a dress down day and may wear holiday colors to school.

The last day of school before Christmas break is Friday, December 17. It is a half day with dismissal at 12:00 noon and no HCA Plus. Christmas break runs from December 18 through January 3. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

November 29th - December 3rd

 

Before we left for our Thanksgiving holiday break, the kindergarten students had a blast celebrating with their classmates.  We started our day with watching "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" with our other Early Childhood friends.  Next we went into the cafeteria and had a "Charlie Brown" feast just like they did in the movie!  We celebrated with pretzel sticks, popcorn, bread, and M&M's!  

Next we took part in the Thanksgiving prayer service where we honored faculty and staff at HCA.  Connor A., Giselle and Greyson were able to help make the prayer service special!  

Then we partnered up with a Pre-K friend and made ornaments for the Early Childhood Christmas tree that sits in our hallway.  I hope you enjoyed the Thanksgiving break with your family and friends!

EVENTS AND REMINDERS

Gym Days next week:  Tuesday, Thursday

The Family Christmas Liturgy will take place on Sunday, December 12 at 1:30 pm. We are asking families to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to Murphy’s Giving Market.

During December we celebrate ALL FAMILIES MONTH at HCA. Students will be meeting with their school families during community time. Please email a family photo to your child's homeroom teacher or send in a family photo with your child by 12/9. Students will take turns introducing their families to their school families.

On Thursday, December 16th, Pre-K, Kindergarten, 3rd and 4th grades will present the Christmas Show Gala for the parents only at 10:00 AM.

Looking ahead - The last day of school before Christmas break is Friday, December 17. It is a half day with dismissal at 12:00 noon and no HCA Plus. Christmas break runs from December 18 through January 3. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.
