February 21st - 25th

What a fun week at Holy Child Academy!  We celebrated 2/22/22 and the 100th day of school all on the same day!!  Celebration overload!!!  The students came in dressed in T-shirts, ties, tutus and tiaras!  We started our day with our Pre-K friends by singing and dancing to some great "two" songs and made fun 2/22/22 crowns!  We drew pictures of 22 things we would like and would not like!  We even went on a scavenger hunt searching for the number 2!

Taylor wishes she had 22 rainbows but would not want 22 spiders!

Justine wishes she had 22 teddy bears but would not want 22 coats!

Ava wishes she had 22 days of vacation but would not want 22 spiders!

Charlie wishes he had 22 wands but would not want 22 scary things!

Alexandra wishes she had 22 unicorns but would not want 22 worms or snakes!

Amor'ah wishes she had 22 houses but would not want 22 snakes!

Next we celebrated the 100th day of school by reading a Kindergarten favorite, "Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for the 100th day of Kindergarten."  The boys and girls drew pictures of what they would do if they had $100.00!  A super fun day for everyone!

They're here!!  Our eggs arrived from Quiver Farm!  The farmer brought the eggs and the incubator and told us how to take care of the eggs.  The Pre-K and Kindergarten classes are responsible for turning the eggs three times a day.  We can't wait for them to hatch!

February 14th - 18th

This week we had a special day called, "Stuffed Animal Day!"  The students brought in their favorite stuffed animal and we had tons fun working on different skills.  We created a graph with our stuffed animals and placed them into categories. We had bears, pets, zoo animals, and make believe stuffed animals!  We also measured our stuffed animals.  We drew pictures of our stuffed animals and wrote how many inches long each animal was!   During rest time, we snuggled up with our stuffed animals!  Great way to have rest time!  Stuffed Animal Day will definitely be one of our favorite days in kindergarten!

During gym class this week the students have been learning about the different Olympic games! Check out the video of our Kindergarten students working on the moguls!

Things to work on!

As we move throughout the second half of the kindergarten year, it's important for our students to learn how to tie their shoes, or at least have a sense of beginning to tie.  Mrs. Mossor will begin her shoe tying unit towards the end of this month and I encourage the students to work on this at home as well.

Another area for our students to master is knowing their address and a parent phone number.  Have your child learn to identify the street address and city, and either a house or cell phone number.
