April 12th - April 16th

We are preparing for first grade by working independently and becoming more responsible for our work.  This week we worked on the main idea of a story and writing or drawing supporting topics.  We read a story about all things that can be science.  Check out some of our supporting topics.

We continue to work on telling time to the hour and half hour.  This week we matched digital time to the analog clock time.  Have your child practice telling time looking at the oven clock, microwave, or the television!

This week during science class, we learned about chemical reactions and mixing colors!  We used vinegar and food coloring to make new colors.  First, we made a prediction about what we thought two colors mixed together would make.  Next, we tested by mixing the two colors.  We were correct on every prediction!  Thank you, Mrs. Mueller for teaching us about colors!  Next, we added baking soda to the mixture and that caused our chemical reaction which was super cool to see!

Charlotte's Web Movable Alphabet sentences!  Using our character chart, each child chose a character from the story and wrote a sentence phonetically!  We are really enjoying the story so far!
